Inspirit Capital, a specialist investor in corporate carve-outs, is pleased to announce that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Capita Plc’s private sector contact centre business (“Contact Centre”). The transaction is expected to close later this year, subject to regulatory approval.
Contact Centre is a trusted customer experience partner to many of Europe’s leading blue-chip companies in sectors such as telecoms, utilities, financial services and retail. With revenues of approximately £398 million in the most recent financial year, the business operates across a number of countries including UK, Ireland, Switzerland, Germany, Bulgaria, Poland, India and South Africa.
Contact Centre’s offering is broad, including customer support throughout the product lifecycle, supplier care, sales, back-office services, and billing & collections. The business has a technology-driven platform with multilingual and omnichannel capabilities that drive high customer satisfaction. Recent material investment in AI capabilities will allow the business to leverage its current platform and drive further performance improvements.
Inspirit Capital is a London-based investment firm that specialises in acquiring businesses that are no longer core to their parent company’s strategic objectives and require a different ownership structure to achieve their full potential.
Will Stamp, Founding Partner at Inspirit Capital, commented:
“We believe the tenure and strength of Capita’s private sector contact centre business’s customer relationships give the business a leading position in the industry and a unique platform from which to exploit new technology and opportunities in the sector. It is an exciting time for the business, with the impressive transformation Capita has started well underway, and the chance to capitalise on its strengths under new ownership.”
Inspirit is being advised on the transaction by Eversheds Sutherland and Evology. Capita is being advised on the transaction by Barclays Bank PLC, acting through its Investment Bank (‘Barclays’) and Dentons.
